Hi everyone I hit a brick wall as far as pain goes and am in a whole new level of pain. It is really getting hard for me to walk a lot, I am hurting all over from fibromyalisa and degeneration and osteoarthritis. I have so much to do around here. I just need something to give me some relief of some of the pain. The problem is my Dr. Only gives me tramadol for pain and it isn’t helping. I feel worse if I stay in bed and cleaning being active is supposed to help. Only now the pain fro even walking kills my feet. So pray I find a solution to these harsher pains.
Did you talk to him about some other kind of pain drug? I know doctors are getting squeamish about prescribing controlled substances and it’s getting more and more difficult to get the scrips filled, too.
It may take several different tries before you find one that really helps.
Sending you hugs and hopes for feeling better. 🙂

CBD oil is wonderful. I could not get through a night without it. Sometimes don’t anyway, but it helps so much!

OK so the link in my previous comment looked scary to me, so I tried it myself and it actually does lead to the web page I intended, and not into virus hell, which I was afraid of! But fear not.

My doc won’t give me anything but tramadol for my fibromyalgia. I asked and he said it was the best. Best for what I don’t know. I don’t even fill the prescriptions anymore. I just use Acetaminophen Extra Strength because it works about the same as Tramadol. Neither kills the pain, just dulls it for me. I hear you on walking pain, yesterday my right foot kept giving out. Hope you get some good results with your doctor.

Check into Kratom. It’s helping a lot of people in pain. Here’s a good site to begin to learn about it and the different types.http://ensobotanicals.com/
I use white vein for energy and green for mood and anxiety. The red vein strain is for pain…but to stay awake you may want to mix it with white. There are also groups on FB who talk about it and you can find out about vendors there too.

I struggle with chronic pain too. I know how imprisoning and isolating it can be. Prayers for answers.

Do you have a neurologist? Mine prescribes Lyrica and Cymbalta for my neuropathy and fibro. Even though I am paralyzed, I have full sensation and suffer from terrible chronic pain. These medications have significantly reduced all my pain. The only side effect I experience is fatigue, but that dissipates with time.

I take Cymbalta, but LyricaLyrica made my throat swell. I’m now on Gabrapentin. I’m a little better now. Thank you!

Gabapentin is not as safe, so be careful with that one. I was on it for a while but my doctor took me off of it due to my bloodwork. It effects liver functions and something else which I’ve forgotten. It’s too bad about the Lyrica. Although, gabapentin does significantly help reduce pain. I am praying for you. Truly. I know what chronic pain feels like, how it hinders life. God bless you.

I wonder if the pain doctors and the DEA have ever read *anything* written by pain patients themselves – or care in the slightest what happens to their lives. It both annoys and infuriates me to read posts like these. I am so sorry to read here (and elsewhere) that so many are suffering needlessly – whether through willful ignorance or corruption at the top.
I also despise the fear (i.e., cowardice) in the medical community who darn well KNOWS better – or darn well SHOULD (and I rarely use that shaming word – but what is happening to people like those commenting here IS shameful.)

It saddens me that people who could help us don’t care. I’m 65 now and I’m tired of being in mental and physical pain.

I am so sorry – and I can relate, although my pain is primarily mental. Has everything become about money and power anymore? It certainly seems so. VERY sad. My prayers are with you.

Have you tried acupuncture? And I hope you can Google Feldenkrais for a class or practitioner in your area. Just might change your life.

Checking in to say hi. Thinking of you, and hoping that you kick that pain’s ass and that it effs off and leaves you be for a while. I guess with chronic pain you count moments when you’re pain-free. If we had to quantify, how many minutes would you say you get relief in a day?
Big hug,

I totally get it on some levels as I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome with the accompanying deep muscle pains, I do use a cane sometimes to get up if I’ve been been sitting for too long and walk up the stairs very slowly and hanging onto the railing for support due to pain in my thigh muscles. This is to say that I understand the ongoing pain and the frustrations of an invisible illness. The muscles I use to walk aren’t affected as much so I look normal when I’m out and about.
It seems you are struggling with greater pain than what I deal with, so my prayers for you to find a solution for the more harsher pains that can be so taxing on one’s well-being. The ongoing low-level aches and pains are trying enough! God bless.

Hello Ava, I’m sorry to hear that you’re also in severe pain. I take root ginger every day, you can start with 500mg tablets, they help with inflammation (I’ve both, that and neuropathy).
All the best, love Faith 🐻 💜
